If you’ve been thinking of trying out drag, or maybe you are just starting out, JuJuBee, second runner up in RuPaul’s Drag Race, has some tips for you!

“Write a back-story of the character you want to be,” said JuJuBee. Outlining your characters story will help you develop your character and her persona.

The second step JuJuBee suggests is to come up with a name. Be clever, creative and make it interesting. Perhaps it has a deep personal meaning, or a fun play on words.

“Be yourself about it,” explained JuJuBee. Remember, you have to be that character every time to get into it, so make sure you are comfortable and authentic.

“Get yourself some good make-up brushes,” JuJuBee said in her serious-fun tone. You need the right tools of the trade – if you’re gunna do it, be serious and invest in this important area.
