This week the makers of Naked Boxer Brief, have launched their latest premium men’s line, the Naked Undershirt.

The Canadian designed and made undershirt is made from Italian micro modal. The soft, light weight fabric has been spun on a 44 gauge machine, making the premium garment stay fitted to the skin.

Tyrell Witherspoon has been performing all his life, in fact he can’t remember a time when he wasn’t performing. He comes from a family of performers, his father was a musician and performer while mother was a renowned piano teacher.

Developing and sharing his craft, first in Brandon then Winnipeg, and currently in Vancouver, Tyrell has a driven work ethic in pursuit of his entertainment dreams.  His drive has resulted with work in theatre, choreography, onboard Royal Caribbean Cruise Ships, and appearances on CBC’s Triple Sensation and CTV’s So You Think You Can Dance Canada.

Tyrell has worked hard to make a name for himself, attending auditions and continuing to grow his skills and reputation. His hard work paid off when he landed a recurring dance roll on the CW show, Hellcats.

Since appearing on Hellcats, Tyrell has made more contacts and expanded his dance resume, appearing on stage and in music videos for artists including Elise Estrada and These Kids Wear Crowns.

Not just a singer and dancer, Tyrell is also a music writer. He presented his music to a number of players in the music industry who gave him advice and encouragement to move from “Tyrell the Dancer” to “Tyrell the Artist”.

In March 2011 Tyrell released his debut single “Letting Go” on iTunes, and a second single followed in July.  An EP, titled Dance With Me has just been released today with five original songs including one co-written with partner Patrick Levesque. The album available for download as of today on iTunes.

With varying styles and genres the EP tells the story of his life over the last five years, personal experiences like moving and feelings that have made him the man he is today.

Throughout this summer Tyrell has been in studio working to complete the EP, rehearsing, and performing at numerous Pride festivals across Canada.

Growing up, both Marlee and Nathalie were surrounded by music. Their family members loved music and signing and playing instruments was part of their childhood.

Although Marlee and Nathalie grew up thousands of miles apart, they both continued to follow their passion for music and continued to sing. It was fate that brought them together, as life partners and musicians.

The lesbian music duo, Sugarbeach, live happily in their Vancouver home writing and producing their own music.

Since 2007 they have released two full albums, I Just Love Girls, and Not Deserted. Both were written and produced by Marlee and Nathalie under the Pink Productions label.

Sugarbeach has won numerous awards since releasing their first album in 2007, including Favorite Group of the Year in 2009, and Pride Song of the Year in 2010 for Living Out Proud.

For the 2011 North America Outgames, Marlee and Nathalie wanted to create a song that would encourage people to get involved and be proud. They wrote and produced the theme song for the Outgames, Come On Out.

The couple enjoy the variety that comes each day including the creative process they take to produce new music, preparing for their next concert, attending events and expanding their knowledge of music.

In the years to come, both Nathalie and Marlee are excited to continue on their musical journey. They are pioneering the way for LGBT musicians to come out and be part of the mainstream music industry.

There will be kink and fetish demonstrations all night long at Vancouver’s Commodore Ballroom on Saturday, July 30, for the Rapture Dominate – Leather & Military Party heats up.  DJ Craig Gaibler and DJ Marcus Purnell will keep the dance floor alive late into the night.

Recently to Vancouver’s club scene, DJ Marcus Purnell is excited to take the stage with his tribal and vocal skills that have had dance floors hopping. His sound of rolling progressive-house and tribal rhythms can make heads turn and asses shake. No stranger to the club scene, Marcus has played at notable clubs and pride events in San Francisco, Miami, Orlando, and Honolulu.

Craig Gaibler has been passionate about music his entire life. Early in college, in the warehouse raves of Seattle, he discovered electronic music. After coming out of the closet and meeting local Seattle DJs, Craig was eager to learn the craft of mixing. Today, DJ Craig Gaibler calls San Fran home.

Craig’s philosophy around DJing centers on three distinct desires:

1) to create a journey that dares anyone to leave the dance floor

2) to play beautiful, fun, uplifting dance music

3) to introduce creative and interesting records, artists and remixes that help define his unique, luscious sound

For Manila Luzon, it’s been a whirl-wind last few months since finishing up on Season 3 as Runner-up on Ru Paul’s Drag Race.

Manila, who is now 25, originally grew up in New York. She knew from a very early age she was born to do drag.

“I remember throwing on my mom’s clothes since I was a child,” said Manila. “I would be wear my grandma’s wig too.”

Manila says being on Ru Paul’s Drag Race has been the highlight of her career so far. She quickly acknowledged the close friendships she made throughout the show and the tips they were able to share with each other.

“I was able to be a part of history,” Manila exclaimed as she described her experience on the show.

After the show, Manila began her tour across North America attending various events, fundraisers and Pride events.

“We are still fighting for equality in America,” explained Manila as she described what Pride meant to her. “It’s a celebration. Enjoy life. It’s a time to reflect on the awesomeness I’ve had given to me in my life.”

“This year there was such a different vibe in New York City,” Manila stated, referring to the recent decision legalize marriage in New York State.

In recent months, Manila and her partner Sahara Davenport, have not been able to spend a lot of time together. Sahara has been busy working on her projects in New York City and Manila’s travel schedule has kept her on the road.

Vancouver Pride will be the next road stop where Manila and Sahara will be able to relax and enjoy a bit of vacation time together.

“It will be good to get out of the country,” said Manila. “I’m excited.”

Vancouver Pride will be Manila’s first time back in Canada since she was a child. As part of their personal vacation time, Manila and Sahara will be attending many events and festivities, including the Vancouver Pride parade.

Manila Luzon will make one live performance during Vancouver Pride 2011. She will be performing at the 2nd annual Rapture Outdoor Pride Pool Party with DJ Nick Bertossi, DJ Landon James and Cassandra. The pool party will be held at the Westin Grand Hotel (433 Robson Street, Vancouver), on Saturday, July 30 from 12:00 (noon) – 6:00pm PST. 1. Grow your own! Dig in, get dirty, and enjoy the freshest produce possible.

3. Avoid buying single packed items; multi or family packaged items use less packaging. Portion food into reusable containers.
4. Eat local at the peak of freshness. Try the 100 mile diet!
5. Eat organic. These foods preserve the health of the soil, air, ground water and genetic integrity of our food.
6. Choose sustainable seafood, such as the Oceanwise program from the Vancouver Aquarium.
7. Compost. Helps to reduce food waste and produces nutrient-rich fertilizer.
8. Eat vegetarian on occasion. Livestock production uses a significant amount of water and land.
9. Choose fair-trade. Sugar, cocoa, tea and coffee are often produced by developing nations. Fair Trade provides safer and more sustainable livelihoods.

First time entrepreneurs, Kelliane Ko and her sister Tiffany Ko, have recently aquired the franchise rights to the mounth-watering Cupcakes bakery at Park Royal in West Vancouver.

The franchise location originally opened in 2010 and was featured in the W TV Network show, Cupcakes, starring Original Cupcakes founders, Heather and Lori.

Growing up in southern Texas, Jake Austin knew from an early age that he loved the be in the kitchen.

“More than anything as a child I would cook as a past time,” said Jake. “It is something I have always been good at and love to do, especially for other people.”
