The Ramada Plaza WeHo proudly flies rainbow flags during the 2012 LA Pride Festival.

In the heart of West Hollywood, on Santa Monica Blvd, is the iconic Ramada Plaza. The current hotel was built in the 1980’s by The Ramada and has embraced is original heritage of days gone by.

The 176 guest rooms, ranging from king beds to lofts, scream of eccentric palettes and influences from the art-deco era. There’s nothing fancy here; just a clean bed and depending on your guest room, a quiet place to stay. It is evident the hotel has tried to do their best to upkeep the property to Ramada standards without having to undergo major and costly renovations.

Years ago the site was home to the Tropicana Motor Lodge. It was a popular stop for travellers as they got to the end of the famous Route 66. The Tropicana was also well known for being a favourite spot for musicians including Jim Morrison, Janis Joplin, Bruce Springsteen Elvis Costello, Guns and Roses and the Beach Boys.

Today the hotel property is also home to a classic American dinner called Kitchen 24, a quick-serve hamburger restaurant, a Starbucks, UPS outlet and a Wells Fargo bank.

Guests also have access to a fitness centre, outdoor heated pool, and the business services centre. There is also same-day dry-cleaning and laundry services.

Sure, it’s not a five-star hotel and the rooms aren’t cheap, but the Ramada Plaza in WeHo gets the job done. And as a bonus, other than being in a great location, the Ramada Plaza offers complimentary WiFi throughout the hotel and the staff are incredibly friendly and knowledgeable.

It’s all-American fare with a California twist at Kitchen 24. The West Hollywood diner is open 24 hours per day and serves up a great menu of traditional American favourites.

Kitchen 24 is located adjacent to the Ramada WeHo, and has a modern and spacious interior diner style-seating and a very large outdoor patio area.

Best-known for cocktails and 24-hour breakfast-fare, Kitchen 24 is a great place for a quick bite to eat any time of day. They serve up a great selection of fare from burgers to French toast. There is also a good selection of vegetarian options on the menu.

Amazing. One word that best describes the food and experience at West Hollywood’s, Fresh Corn Grill. From the fresh, quality ingredients to the generous portion sizes, Fresh Corn Grill offers excellent value for a healthier-alternative, quick-serve restaurant.

Best-known for their corn-off-the-cob, grilled to perfection, the sweet and robust vegetable is packed with flavor. The menu offers a great selection of mix-and-match options including chicken, soups, salads, grilled vegetables and starch options.

There are also pizzas, sandwhiches and tacos on the menu, but the best value is the Fresh Grilled Corn Specialty Plates, which with one or two sides.

Fresh Corn Grill is located at 1510 West Blvd in West Hollywood, California and is open daily from 11:30am – 10:00pm, with 2 hour free parking.

On the main stage in front of thousands of fans, West Hollywood Mayor, Jeffrey Prang, officially welcomed Lil’ Kim to West Hollywood, and thanked her for her support of the LGBT community. It was all part of the LA Pride celebrations on Saturday, June 9 in West Hollywood, California.

Grammy Award winner and actress, Lil’ Kim, is one of the largest female rap artists of her time, with platinum records in 1997 and 2000, two Soul Train / Lady of Soul awards, and was The Source Hip-Hop Music Awardee for Female Artist of the Year in 2003.

The City of West Hollywood recognized Lil’ Kim for her dedication to supporting the LGBT community and for her support of gay marriage. Lil’ Lim performed for thousands of her fans at the 42^nd Annual LA Pride Festival on June 9, 2012.

West Hollywood proudly celebrated their 42^nd annual pride June 8-11. They hosted the world’s first pride parade in the world and are one of the largest pride events in the United States.

Gigantic waterslides. Above ground pools. DJ’s. Bars. Hot guys. The fun, wet and wild times are hitting LA Pride for the first time as SummerTramp, a 10,000 square foot portable water park party, slides into West Hollywood for the first time ever for the June 8-10 event.

“West Hollywood Park has been totally renovated for 2012 and this wonderful space has allowed us to be super creative. SummerTramp is already a wildly popular downtown event and now our attendees can ‘Swim and Slide with Pride,’” said Jeff Consoletti, Event Producer. “SummerTramp will help LA PRIDE totally blow it out of the water.”

SummerTramp at LA PRIDE will feature the biggest water slide in California, two above ground pools and a mix of the hottest local DJ’s and hosts all weekend, including Aaron Elvis, Casey Alva, Josh Peace, Chris Bowen, Daisy O’Dell and more. Victor Rodriguez will host

‘The Mess Around Lot Hop’ on both Saturday and Sunday night. “SummerTramp is a hidden paradise where drag queens flirt with lesbians, leather daddy’s swim with WeHo boys, east-side hipsters hang with DTLA queens, jocks canoodle with twinks and gay guys meet ladies,” said co-creator Andres Rigal. “It’s an amazing mix of people of all stripes and dots celebrating summer… together!” Rigal created SummerTramp with international promoter Luke Nero.
